About FIH
The Fellow Institute of Hospitality (FIH) is the professional body for managers and potential managers in the hospitality industry. The FIH's purpose is to identify, promote and maintain the highest professional standards for management, education and training in the international hotel and catering industry.

It is the only internationally recognised organisation where members are individuals rather than companies, and covers all sectors of the industry from hotels, contract catering, restaurants and pubs to hospitals, schools and armed forces catering.

The FIH is a registered charity, and has a worldwide membership of around 23,000.

The association was formed in 1971 by the amalgamation of the Hotel and Catering Institute (created 1949) and the Institutional Management Association (created 1938). It brought together the common interests of both the public and private sectors, in the provision of food and accommodation services, to create one professional management association for the entire industry.
